Göran Söllscher solo recital
A distinguished musical reunion
Internationally acclaimed Swedish guitarist Göran Söllscher returns to China in September 2026 for concerts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
In Beijing and Shanghai he will be joined by the renowned Chinese cellist Jian Wang. The two Deutsche Grammophon artists recorded the album Reverie together in 2007 and toured internationally in 2008 and 2009. The 2026 concerts mark their first performances together in China and their reunion on stage after nearly two decades.
Jian Wang first came to international attention as a young musician in the documentary From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China, which received the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1981. He has since built an outstanding international career as a soloist and recording artist.
Two distinguished musicians reunite in China through the intimate combination of guitar and cello.
Following the duo concerts, Göran Söllscher will give a solo recital at Guangzhou Opera House on 27 September. The programme brings together music associated with his long international career as one of the leading classical guitarists of his generation.
